I want to start of by saying I love ChatGPT. I think AI provides us so much insight into ourselves that we haven't yet explored.
That being said, why is the issue with AI posting and not how people respond to the post?
If AI really is learning from our responses...the outlook is grim.
A lot of commenters on most posts are reactive rather than responsive. It makes me sick reading 99% of comments because these people lack empathy. They have no self-control and zero accountability for their online presence.
I don't believe AI is an issue in any online platform.
I believe that people will forever be the biggest problem.
For example, I was reading a post about a woman who miscarried. Her reaction to the miscarriage wasn't "my husband sucks" and husband's reaction wasn't "my wife sucks". Both individuals were dealing with a major loss. Everyone handles grief differently.
The comments on that post were so sickening, I couldn't scroll more than once.
If it was my situation and people were calling the father of my child/children a POS, I'd regret saying anything. The comments only get worse from there.
It's one thing to have an opinion, but it's another to force it upon someone else like it's the absolute or only truth. The commenters can say whatever they want, but somehow it's the fault of AI for "rage bating"?
I don't think so.
I think all of us have to hold ourselves accountable for how we behave online.
