I 25F had just broken up with boyfriend of around a year 28M. He did not take it well it’s been months of asking to change things that are fixable like finding a different job because he has no car, hasn’t paid taxes in 3 years and I pay everything except rent so that’s the car, insurance, groceries, WiFi, phone bill, all the Spotify Hulu etc and I get told I’m being selfish and in fact I’m not pulling my weight. Rent is 1800. But he’s been abusing my credit cards since he met me. I let him. My fault I know. I felt bad because he just lost everything but he did have a blow addiction at the time. I’m in law school now, not a drinker or user of drugs just my antidepressants which he thinks are stupid. I had to call the police on his tonight because I left to let cooler heads prevail since he was intoxicated and no good was to come from the convo. He has barricaded me out. He was upset I had taken a bra to go stay at my sisters to give us space insinuating I’m cheating. I threw the bra in the front door and he said he was scared for his life that I have a knife or gun and he was going to call police (I can’t own a gun because I attempted suicide a year prior) he then proceeded to tell me “you’re mom and you are the reason you don’t have a dad”, “your a first year law student you won’t pass” (I have an undergrad in criminology from UCI) “I can do evil things.. try me” then he exposed himself when I tell him I don’t have time to cheat and that he’s actually been caught on Reddit texting randoms and he brings up a name I had not heard before and he shrugs it off as if I already knew so he’s been talking to someone. I always knew I was being used I gave him chance after chance. The cops separated us for the night and he paid for a hotel room. Is there any chance I can get me money back he spent on my cards. Are guys that mean to girls who literally tried to give them all the opportunities to succeed???
