So my sister was living states away and asked me to come pick her up because she couldn’t keep living the terrible lifestyle she was living. She was living in a trailer, facing eviction, no electricity, rats, flies, mice, busted windows, and dealing with a partner who would come and go and was abusive. I had no idea this is how she was living because she was states away and when I came to visit we stayed in a hotel together.

She started opening up to me and telling her how bad it was and finally a few months ago she asked me if she could start a new life with me here in FL. I drove two states away to pick up her and her three children and couldnt believe what I saw. The children didn’t have toothbrushes or shoes and everything was just covered in filth and mold and animal droppings. You couldn’t even walk through her trailer. Well I picked her up and brought her back down to FL and let her live in one of my houses that was vacant. I’m not rich but I wanted to help my sister out. I gave her two bedrooms and a bathroom and separate living room and dining and I planned to rent the other two bedrooms out to cover some of the cost.

When she got to Florida she was not okay I could tell she was withdrawing off of something and the kids were going through major behavioral issues from what they went through and all the new changes. I tried to be there for her every second and take her to get groceries, set up and furnished the rooms and kitchen for her. Started getting school packets to enroll the kids and even helped her order birth certificates.

9 days later she left in a uber with all her kids and headed to the grey hound station without saying a word and when I called she wouldn’t answer. She ended up texting me saying she’s going to a different state with some guy. I found out she was taking her and my nieces and nephews to some motel in the middle of nowhere with some guy. The guy had bought her the tickets. I told her go live that lifestyle but leave the kids or I’m calling dcf. Well she ended up doing that with that kids and I called. I feel extremely guilty because the relationship with my sister is gone and now she won’t let me see or talk to the kids. I worry they are not okay. Again when I picked them up the kids didn’t even have toothbrushes or shoes. They were seriously neglected. It’s been months since I’ve talked to them.
