I (F19) was dating a guy (M20) for almost a year. We were close—like, I knew his whole family, went on vacations with them, helped him study, supported him through job drama. I thought we were solid.

Out of nowhere, he texted me saying his mom died and he “needed space.” I was devastated for him. I sent flowers. I tried to check in. No answer.

Then, a week later, I see a tagged post of him at his mom’s birthday dinner. Laughing. Cake. Balloons. His mom, very much alive.

I was so stunned I screenshotted it and posted it with “glad she made a miracle recovery 🙃.” His friends blew up my phone saying I embarrassed him. Now he’s blocked me and told everyone I’m crazy.
