I asked my 27-year-old boyfriend to pick me up from an airport that's 3 hours away from where we live, and suggested we spend the night in that city. He said it gives him anxiety to drive that far, especially in a city-like area. So, I offered to fly into another airport that's the same distance but less city-like, and we could spend the night there instead. He then said he could only come get me if he could bring his older sister (who doesn't drive), which he completely ignores my idea of spending the night together alone. I told him to forget it, and he got quiet. Now he's trying to guilt trip me with his anxiety and I don't feel bad because we are grown. AITAH?
UPDATE***
I guess I didn't add that much detail just the current situation that was happening. I definitely appreciate everyone's feedback and see where I could've handled it better.
My boyfriend is part of a training program that is 2 hours away from where he lives. He gladly makes the drive home every weekend to visit his mom and his sister and every other week he'll see me, or we will meet halfway. Every weekend, no complaints and no issues with Anxiety. But as soon as I ask him to pick me up from the airport, he throws around his anxiety. I 100% understand that he does not have to pick me up! I even offered to drive us back home and he could drive my car and id pay for gas and everything! The spending the night wasn't for anything more than us to spend time together.
