We are both middle aged. My husband does hard labor and provides for our family. He’s up before the roosters m-f. Works 8 hours day doing high end tile work. Then also works odd jobs when they come, like after work here and there (not often) and sometimes weekends. He has his role and I have mine. However, I was a little shocked that within 4 minutes of him picking me up at ER (210am) he’s mentioning his back pain and how he needs it rubbed because he pulled something. I was in the ER for 8 hours, almost got admitted but I fought it and am trying the first round of meds to see if fights this. I have a massive abscess in my parotid gland, not helped by two auto immune diseases, and I’m in so much pain that even two doses of Morphine didn’t really cut the piercing pain. I feel like it was a jerk move for him to even insinuate I need to rub him. Then again, If I don’t rub him and his pain is that bad, his work is compromised and I sympathize with pain more than most. Should I rub him?
