TW: SA, and abuse

Some backstory on this… I dated my ex for about a year and a half and her new bf at the time (ill call him z) was always a little too lovey with her. I told her multiple times that I was not comfortable with him being that way with her but she always dusted it off like it was no big deal. At the time he started getting annoyed with me that we were still together, and one day he made up a story about how I was with another girl at the mall and had proof of it, I told her that it was BS but she showed me pictures of someone who looked exactly like me at the mall in my town that showed me holding hands with her and kissing her on the cheek. I stood there in disbelief for like a minute before she snapped and said that we were done. I was in shock for about a week thinking about what happened and after I saw them walking in the halls holding hands while he smiled at me, I snapped.

I remember hearing from a 8th grader (me z and my ex are seniors ) a month or so before this that he was texting her and trying to get them to hookup (He was 18 and she was 13) and when she told him she was going to show people, he threatened her saying that he would r*pe her if she said anything (forgot to mention that his dad is a sergeant in the police department) and being that his dad was a sergeant, nobody would believe her anyway. So I messaged her asking to meet up at a restaurant to discuss the situation, and she agreed. I showed up and I was greeted by her dad, I think he was a little sussed out by me but once I confirmed that I was not a threat he was grateful for my help. We sat down and I asked her to send me anything that showed him threatening her or asking to hookup with her, at this point I realized the extent of what happened. He had sent multiple nude images of himself to her and said some things I should not repeat. Also at this point I realized that her dad was visibly shaken up and upset that this happened. I asked her why she didn’t just tell her parents and she said that he threatened to do things to her if she said anything to anyone. I asked her why she believed him and she said it was because he told her that nobody would care (and a lot of other manipulative things to scare her) after all the stuff that he said was sent over, i went through to double check if any of the images were altered or anything just as a safety measure. I thanked her for her time and told her dad that I was sorry this happened and I would keep in touch with the things that happened from there on out.

I went home that night and I researched his family (i know this sounds creepy but trust me i kinda needed too) and found his moms, grandmas and 2 sisters facebook accounts, I sent them all individual messages showing the proof of there son/grandson/brother being a pedo and I got responses from his sisters first with them both telling me that they always suspected this but never said anything bc there was no proof. His mom messaged me next with doubts of everything but his sisters pulled her to the side of believing me. I never got a response from his grandma but his mom thanked me and invited me over to talk. I said yes but only under the conditions that I could bring the girl he sent the messages to with me so she could get some reassurance that nothing would happen. She agreed and we decided to meet the next day during his baseball practice.

I showed up with the girl (lets call her c) and knocked on the door, his mom answered with swelled eyes like she had been crying, greeted me and then gave c a hug while apologizing profusely about what z did. C said that its okay and it wasn’t her fault and she felt better now that she knew nothing would happen. She invited us inside when it started raining out and sat us down at the dining table. I pulled out my computer to show them that no altering was done to the images/screenshots and I sadly had to show her and her daughters a nude image of their son/brother with his face in it. She broke down while being comforted by her daughters when her husband pulled into the garage. I got worried because I didn’t know what would happen to me if he didn’t believe what happened but that all went away when he greeted me with a smile and thanked me for showing his family what his son had been doing. He sat next to C and told her that he would make sure nothing would happen when all of a sudden the front door opened. It was Z and he yelled “They stopped practice early because of the rain” and I heard his footsteps getting closer. He walked into the entryway of the dining room and stopped as soon as he saw me. He asked what i was doing there and then he saw C, he froze and his face flushed when he saw the pictures on my computer. “Thats not me” he says “Bullshit” his dad said while standing up “Who the fuck do you think you are sending pictures of your dick to a 13 year old girl?” His dad said while approaching him. “I didn’t, those are fake!” He said. He opened his mouth but his dad punched him in the face and pushed him to the ground, he put him in cuffs and told him to sit on the couch and if he moved he would cut his dick off (which is fucking crazy but i get it) his dad came back to the table and asked if I could send the pictures to his phone number which he wrote on a post it and proceeded to grab z and walk to the car. I sat there stunned and looked over to see z’s mom still crying and c with a small smirk on her face. I got up, hugged z’s mom and sisters, thanked them for there time while also apologizing that they had to find out about this and drove c home.

This was 4 nights ago and Z’s trial starts tomorrow. My ex came to my house last night crying and gave me a hug. She apologized and said that she still loves me but thought I didnt love her back, i told her I still love her. We are back together and im going to be a witness at trial tomorrow.
