So I (20m) have a friend (22m) that I play games with and have been for almost every night for the past like 6 years. He and I are part of a friend group that has existed for that long. This story will likely be biased so if anyone has questions attempting to understand further please comment and I’ll explain to the best of my abilities.

So this guy and I have been really good friends for a while. He arguably is the most popular guy in our group and easily the most influential. But sometimes for like weeks on end he becomes what I think to be an insufferable asshole. Examples from my experience and point of view would be like becoming verbally belligerent with me by claiming that “I am incapable of introspection,” that “I can’t self-reflect” but the situations he applies these to don’t make sense to me? Like say in helldivers I leave the 3 divers and go complete a mission on my own and then I get chewed out. Or in rocket league I play bad defense or the rotation poorly. Or in siege I would say “womp womp” when a round goes poorly. I don’t think those are situations worth getting that mad at? He often kicks me from parties and then doesn’t invite me back. He often gets the others to agree with him on crazy conspiracy shit, say on our Minecraft server I am the one that usually end-busts so I happen to have all the elytra. And even though the shulker with 10+ spares in there is placed and accessible to everyone he claimed that I hid it, and because everyone just agrees with him now I am the one that hid the elytra shulker. A more severe situation is that about a year ago he completely exiled someone from the group because he was argumentative, granted he wasn’t a great guy, but completely ousting and he claimed it was justified because he said he talked about it a year prior with him and then never again and saw no change. He claims that I do not listen to things that don’t affect me. I’ve told him that I do not like the way he treats me and then claims I do the same to him. But I’ve never gone on rants about how much he pisses me off? I’ve never chewed him out for doing dumb things in games? Can anyone ask the right questions to understand him further? Can anyone confirm to me that I’m not crazy?
