sorry if this doesn’t make much sense, english is not my first language and honestly i’m just rambling trying to search ways to help my friend. my (15F) friend (15F) confided in myself and two of our other friends (both 15 F) yesterday after school about what happened during spring break. For a bit of background we’ll call my friend (who was assaulted) A, and our other friends G and M. we met almost two years ago at our first day of high school since we are in the same class (where i’m from during the last year of middle school you have to choose what school you’ll be attending after, we have a lot of different kind, for example me A,G and M choose the Classic where on top of all the other subjects we also study ancient greek and latin. Also we don’t change class every one hour, the professors change classes in between and all the members of one class remain the same for all of the 5 years, unless of course someone gets held back, so essentially we stay all together in the same room 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, so i guess this one of the reasons why the 4 of us grew so close. We didn’t know each other before high school a part G and M who are friends since middle school, because we live in very different areas: i live more on the countryside, A lives near the mountains and G and M in the city center.) So after spring break, which was only 4 days for us, we got back to school and after the first day while we were waiting for the bus A takes us aside and tells us she has some gossip which isn’t unusual for our group, but i knew it was private since she didn’t want our other friends to listen, and so she begins to tell what happened on the first day of break, when she got to a party with her group of friends from her village and her best friend ( P 15F, who was in our class last year ). At this party there was a boy who she likes and started talking to through out the night, but at a certain point she asked for someone to accompany her out to smoke a cigarette, and this boy ( D 16/17M ) volunteered, since A knew D because he is in the same group of friends she accepted so they went out, and D started trying to convince her to go near the church and further away from the party because he apparently “saw” something, and A trusting went with him so he wouldn’t be alone after pulling her aside D sat down on like a bench and expected A to sit on his lap, at this point A started to understand why he wanted to be there, so she told him that she didn’t want and wouldn’t kissing or anything like that, and he tried to guilt trip her saying things like “why do i disgust you or something?” and she told him that wasn’t the case she just didn’t want anything with him and thought of him more like an acquaintance than anything else. But D started to get in her personal space and try to kiss her down her neck, so A yelled at him the he disgusted her, and after that he stormed off and returned to the party. After she got back there too she kind of felt guilty for how she yelled so she grabbed some toilet paper and went to give it to him since he was in the bathroom with the door, as a sort of peace maker i think, and she says it all happened really fast and before she knew it he ha locked the door and started to forcefully remove her pants and he assaulted her. And in the meantime P was banging on the bathroom door and telling D to open because she knew A was also in. A says she remained like paralyzed and couldn’t move out of fear and it was only after he went out of the bathroom that she started to realize and full on bawling. When she told me, G and M this she started as if it was like some form of gossip and then she kind of got more serious. I think she wanted to see what we would react like because she didn’t really know herself what happened. In fact i had point out to her that it was rape. It was her first time and i really wish to help her emotionally (physically she already got help with the pill and consultation from experts, who give free advice to minors about sex, diseases and precautions they also go to schools to talk about it) she had to tell them it was her boyfriend because if she didn’t they would have to call her parents and the authorities, and she really didn’t want to tell anyone nor wanted legal issues. please if you can give me advice on how to proceed i would be grateful thank you.
