I (F 38) and my partner (M 35) gave birth almost 9mths ago to our first baby and of course, it hasn't been easy. We've received no help. Now, I'm pregnant again and my partner is adamant we don't have another baby right now. He thinks I'm an asshole for not taking what he wants into consideration. He's saying we've had a tough time with our son and he doesn't want to go through it again anytime soon but I don't want to get rid of the baby either. He says it's not fair on him but what is fair about having an abortion? He's saying he wants the kids to at least have a 2 year age gap. Is this deal breakingly important? Am I being an inconsiderate asshole? I feel this will cause a rift between us.

Editing to say we haven't been using protection, so not like I tricked him into getting pregnant.
