Basically that. They’ve left 2 notes and withheld our mail over the weekend because our car was parked too close to the box. I parked about 10 ft away from the mailbox, which puts my car smack dap in the middle of my mailbox and my neighbor’s mailbox. The note says they need 30 ft on each side, so I went out and measured it. The space between my neighbors mailbox and my mailbox is 35 ft, meaning I cannot park anywhere in front of my house. (I can’t park in my driveway because it only fits one car and we have two.) My gf is pissed. She googled it and said our city only requires 10 ft. She’s so mad that they withheld our mail. I wrote the postman a note “According to this we have no space to park or put out our trash cans. City code blah blah blah requires only 10 ft of space. I’m sorry but there’s no way to accommodate 30 ft. We will have to continue parking here. Thank you!” My gf says it’s the perfect amount of passive aggressive but I’m afraid he’s gonna resent us and talk shit about us to the neighbors and they might stop delivering my mail and I love writing letters 😥 should I go take the note down while my gf is at work? Which is worst- not taking my gf’s side or pissing off the postman??
