So for my birthday, I turned 32, my boyfriend is 31, my son is 10, but he is autistic (this is relevant I promise). We were planning to see the Minecraft movie as my son loves Minecraft so I said that’s what we can do and Olive Garden, but I was able to make some money from my job, walking dogs, so if I picked it up we wouldn’t have time for Olive Garden, but we would still make the movie as it was the last showing. I told my boyfriend we wouldn’t be going to Olive Garden and that I got something quick for him to make for my son while I’m out. I normally do all of the cooking as no one else knows how to cook, I do all the cleaning as well, I work part time and I’m going to school full time. I didn’t feel like cooking since we were celebrating my birthday and I had picked up some work. Now here’s where I got mad, I came back home and all he did was sit and play on his game for hours and my son never got fed and it almost put us behind on time and I had to rush to get ready. My son won’t always communicate when he’s hungry due to the autism and so there’s time I have to ask him, so I made sure to mention to my boyfriend that there is easy to make food I got in the freezer. He says he never heard me about the making him food part, but I told him a grown adult shouldn’t have to even be told to make a child food or ask them if they are hungry. I’m tired of having to do everything myself and he just makes mistakes all the time without a care in the world. AITA for calling him stupid and getting upset with him over this? I get that people will make mistakes, but my anxiety has significantly increased due to the fact I can’t rely on him and worry about what I’m going to have to fix or do myself because of how many and how often he fks up and all he does is say my bad. He believes I just need to tell him and keep reminding him, but I think if you’re an adult and watching a child you’re fking stupid if you need to be told to feed that child or ask the kid if they are hungry especially when it’s dinner time.
