So I (18F) have been dating my boyfriend (19M) for almost 4 years. It’s been amazing — he’s sweet, loving, and we’ve shared so much. We even had this pact that we’d drink alcohol for the first time together. And we did, at a small party our friends organized — it felt really special.

But recently, he started university and made new friends who are way more into drinking. His old friend group wasn’t into alcohol at all, and neither am I — I’m actually alcohol intolerant. But now, he’s constantly going to restobars, drinking casually, and it’s become a regular thing.

He also started casually gambling on cricket matches. It’s not serious or anything, just for fun — but it still worries me a bit. I don’t know if it’s the gambling or just everything changing at once, but I’m starting to feel like I don’t really know him anymore.

I confronted him about all of this — how I feel left out, how I’m scared he’s changing, and how I miss how things used to be between us. His response? “Stop caring.”

That really hurt. I’m not trying to control him — I just care. I want us to stay close, to still enjoy the same things, and I’m scared this new lifestyle is pulling us in totally different directions.
