I 17M bought myself a phone about a week ago so i can finally talk to my friends.
It all started about 6 months ago, i usually study thought the evening after coming home from school leaving me with almost no time to just spend time leisurely at home.
So instead of compromising on my studies i decided to just wait till my bedtime(11pm) and just go into my room and finally relax. One day at around midnight my parents caught me awake with my phone . They have always had a negative impression of phones are were very reluctant to give me their old one (in their mind a mobile phone would be the bane of my existence).
This act of catching me getting caught leads to a long and convulted next few months of my parents trying to hide the phone and outright threatening to throw it away but usually they give it back in a few days after i plead for it.
2 months back they took it away again , this time i had enough i decided to just not take it back i looked for a cheap phone on the market and found something i could buy in a few months.
I saved up my pocket money and made and sold a lot of artwork at school for 2 months straight to earn the required amount and just bought it.
They were very shocked at first , questioning if i had resorted to stealing after i explained myself, they somehow where more mad saying if i am grown up enough to diectly try to defy their wishes i am also grown up enough to go find a place of my own.
They say if i want to stay at the house i have to give away my new phone too.
All i wanted to do was play some video games and talk to my friends.
Refrence- My grades have never dipped below 90% , so i always thought it was unreasonable.
Moreover there complaint about me wasting time doesnt seem to be hold true as the only time i get to use my phone is at the very end of the day for atmost 1.5 hours (atleast in my opinion).
Any solution on how to explain to them that i dont mind limited use of my phone just need it from time to time.
Please wait...
