Me (27F) and my boyfriend (27M) are currently in a tiff because he believes I called him disgusting in an argument.

I had just gotten back from grabbing brunch with my family while he had stayed at home. When I was out he took the opportunity to enjoy some hard lemonade on our balcony. I got home around 2:30 PM and shortly after we wanted to get ready for a walk because it’s finally nice out where we live. Both of us have been wanting to take advantage of the walking trails around our home. As we’re about to head out the door, he needed to go to the washroom.

In a rush he had only pulled his shorts down just below his waist. He had a good buzz going at this point and was a little wobbly standing at the toilet. When he came out of the bathroom I started laughing and so did he. Folks, it straight up looked like he had wet himself. We decided to hang out on our balcony so that his shorts had time to dry off before leaving. After a good laugh, I am assuming he was just trying to keep the ‘giggles going’ and was now trying to hug me from behind while pushing his WET shorts into my backside. Now this kind of thing from him is normal, he’s told me before that his way of showing love is to annoy that person. I do try and be a good sport about it, but sometimes I react in a harsh way.

This is where I might be a bit of an asshole. I told him to stop and let me go a couple of times while he was still laughing, I wasn’t at this point and was starting to get upset. The thing that finally got him to let me go was when I yelled ‘THATS F***ING DISGUSTING!’ He stopped immediately, took off his shoes and bag and goes out on the balcony without a word. I tried saying I wasn’t calling HIM disgusting, but it was already too late. He had shut down and didn’t want to talk, didn’t want to go for a walk, didn’t want to be around me and just went to bed. So Reddit, AITA?
