My uncle got married when I was 14. My aunt in law by marriage, who I’ll call Zoe for now, wanted her niece/nephew to be jr bridesmaid and the ring boy. They were 16+. My uncle decided to make me and my cousins around my age the flower girls. I am the youngest option they have (unless they use strangers or someone outside the family) so obviously I took the position. But during the wedding some people didn’t like teenagers being flower girls, since they’re too old. But my uncle insisted since I am very close to him, almost like a father that I never had (bcs my dad left me) and after the wedding, Zoe and my uncle argued because apparently I ruined the wedding which was supposed to be her perfect day. And she doesn’t like how my uncle spends time w/ me. He has always read bed time stories as a child, took me to playgrounds, amusement parks, and it never changed. All that changed what that I got older and the locations changed as I aged up. Zoe didn’t like it at all, and wanted him to spend time with her which I do understand but she did kind of snap at me too during breakfast. I was talking about going to the beach since it was summer then she started yelling at me. And there was that one time my uncle almost became a dad, so time with me decreased a lot. I eventually talked w/ him about my feelings and how I miss him. I might of been a bit too childish but with a father who is barely there, the only guy I looked up to was him. He did understand me and comforted me, I understood his perspective. He didn’t spend time with me like before but he did send me videos like “hru? I miss u! If there are bullies in school ill beat their ass.” And crack some jokes in or smth. Zoe didn’t like that too, so I had to block my uncle. My uncle was upset when he found out and told Zoe not to lash out on a teenage kid. I heard that they had a miscarriage so I sent them like- sorry cards and baby drawings (with a crayon because Im broke) and Zoe sent me a thank you. It kinda feels awkward now since I guess she was nice to me for a moment?- idk- but AITA?
