Me F(30) and my dad (60) has dad a rocky relationship ever since I can remember. He is not the most expressive of lovey dovey dad we usually see. I live with my parents inspite of being in my 30s since this is a norm here until we are married off. I help out my parents financially as much as I can in return. However these past month it has become extremely difficult living with him. He bursts out on my brother and myself for very small reasons. He’s never there for us when needed and always takes side with other people inspite of knowing that we are in the right. Similar incident happened when my kitten was hit by a car a month ago with no chance of recovery but instead of taking my side he took side of the person who hit my cat. The injury was so bad that we had to end up euthanising the kitten since her entire lower body was ruptured inspite of it being alive. It was then I decided to move out and live alone. I have another cat whois a special needs cat. She suffers from incontinence and needs help expressing her bladder and poop time to time. My cats are known to steal food when left out in the open, because of this we keep our kitchen closed all the time so that they do not enter unsupervised. So yesterday I had closed the door after cooking for the same reason and dad decided to leave the door open which led to the cat entering the kitchen and eating it. Dad saw it and hit my car so had that I thought it died. I freaked out and cried and during the moment of tears screamed at him and said something like “ Hope you die the same way”. I I shouldn’t have said something like that and later apologised but I also wanted him to apologise to me since what he did was inexcusable. He asked me to leave the house and basically got disowned. I still do not regret standing up for my cat and would do it again if he does something like this. AITA?
