My girlfriend and I have been together about 3 years now and are currently long distance. We're 8 hours apart in time zones so I rarely get to talk to her and when I do we're both usually pretty tired.

My friend recently started dating someone and is constantly talking to me about how great they are, how he misses them, etc and he says it really frequently.

It honestly irritates me and just reminds me of my less than great situation when he does. I don't think there's anything wrong with his relationship and like hanging out with the two of them but I just really don't like being told how much he misses his s/o or how great he is given my current circumstances.

I've recently told him this and he responded by getting defensive and saying that he just wants to talk about his s/o and trying to justify it.

Am I in the wrong?
