I'm 23, and life's been a grind since I moved out on my own. My day job at a retail store barely covers rent and bills, and I was always stressed about money, like choosing between groceries or gas stressed. A few months ago, I started this side hustle online. I'm not gonna get into details, but let's just say it's the kind of thing that raises eyebrows nothing illegal, totally my choice, and it's been a game changer. I'm finally sleeping better, eating actual meals, and even saving a bit.
I didn't tell my friends because they're super judgey about stuff like this. One of them's always preaching about “morals” and another loves picking apart people's choices like it's her job. I knew they'd give me side eye or try to lecture me, so I kept it quiet. It's been nice having this little corner of my life that's just mine, по opinions. I set up a separate social media for it, kept things low-key, and figured was good.
Then last week, one of them somwhow found out. No clue how, but she blew up our group chat, saying I'm shady for hiding it and acting like I don't trust them. Now they're all mad, saying I must know it's sketchy if I didn't tell them, and I'm making them feel stupid for being out of the loop. I tried explaining I just wanted to avoid drama, but they're acting like I lied to their faces. It's my life, and I'm not hurting anyone, so why's it their business? I feel a little bad for keeping secrets, but I also think I had my reasons. AITA for not telling them?
