📝 AITA for kicking out my flatmates so my friends can move in?

So I live in Germany and I rent a three bedroom apartment. I live I one of the rooms and I sublease the 2 other rooms to be able to afford the rent so it turns into what we call in Germany a WG (I don't hike the rent for the other 2 guys, we split it fairly according to room size, I end up paying the middle highest rent).

So 2 of my friends are moving to my city in June and I have said that they can move into my apartment cuz I could just end the contracts of the 2 guys that are living with me rn. Mind you the 2 guys are just some random dudes that are not bad flatmates but I would just much rather live with my friends. Luckily for me, in Germany the law is that if you are the "main tenant", hauptmieter in German, of an apartment and are also living in said apartment you can cancel the contracts of your subtenants as shortly as 2 weeks before you want them out as long as you rented the rooms to them furnished and didn't specify contract length with them.

I am a student and if I had told my 2 current subtenants that I wanted them to move out long ago, like say February, they might've found new apartments already and I wouldn't be able to cover rent. I am planning on telling them on the 15th of this month (April) so if they find a place to move into on the 1st of May I would only have to cover rent alone for one month which isn't too bad but I am also feeling bad cuz it is so short notice but then for my own sake it has to be such short notice. Am I the asshole or is this just an unfortunate situation?
