📝 AITA for labeling all the shelves in my shared fridge and enforcing it?

So I live in a house with 3 other people. We all get along fine, but one recurring issue has been people “accidentally” eating other people’s food. It’s usually small stuff—leftovers, a yogurt here or there—but it adds up and it’s annoying.

So I bought one of those cheap label makers and put our names on the fridge shelves. Like, “Greg’s shelf,” “Jess’s shelf,” etc. I even added a little note on the fridge door that said, “Please use your own shelf—anything communal can go in the door or bottom drawer.”

No one said anything at first, but now one roommate made a comment about how it feels like we’re living in a corporate break room. Another said it’s a bit “OCD” and “weirdly intense.”

I honestly wasn’t trying to be a jerk—I just got tired of food disappearing and figured this would help. Since doing it, no one’s stuff has gone missing, so I kinda thought that proved the point?

But now I’m wondering if I overstepped and made things uncomfortable. AITA?
