I am a 20y.o. college student who have been working part time around 25 hours a week for the past 2 years part time in company that went from 4 people in office (2 full time) to only one (me) in the office. In that time I continously picked up more and more tasks and now I am responsible for managing webpage and other internet webs where we offer products, administration and by the end of the summer I picked up all other tasks in the office such as bookkeeping, doing pictures of the products, measuring the products, payments and managing attendence.
For better understanding we have external firm who does the bookkeeping but we also evidate all of the bills ourselves and then send them the documents with evidence number and they evidate it themselfes + they prepare some forms that are send each month to the finance goverment for vat.
The colleague who I picked those tasks after was there for full time and picked them from another previous colleague who left by beginning of 2024.
Unfortunately the colleague did in that half year lot of mess in the bookkeeping and I spent many months fixing those mistakes.
In that time the owner is constantly rude and demands almost daily something that is delusional and likes to bend the rules. + He puts me in lot of stress with constantly overworking me, calling me with needing favours in the days that I am not working.
So after sometime I decided to leave not because of the overworking experience and being underpaid but mostly because of the boss placing on me lot of stress completely for nothing.
In the end of february I notified him that I am leaving by end of April eventhough legally I had to notify him only 14 days before I leave but I understand that it takes time to train someone for that many tasks.
For the first 5 weeks he completely ignored it and then suddenly one day as how I have to find somebody to replace me.(I also live in small city so it is harder to find someone with experience) I found some candidates in few days. I convinced the owner to get rid of the internal bookkeping process and just send the documents to the external company so the previous problem wouldn't happen again.
The owner instantly hired them eventhough there were more candidates with more experience. So I spend whole week training that person but she decided that this isn't work for her and it is too much of it.
So now I am in the process of being in the company for the last few days with noone in the office and feel teribble and guilty for leaving the rest of the people that are still there in the production (around 6 people). They are now scared because they might have problems with wages, socials, healthcare and the company will bassicly end up in one big mess.
On the other hand I feel like this shouldn't be my problem when I notified the owner way more than ahead of time and it is his ignorance and greed for saving money that got him into this mess.
