She would occasionally ask if I wanted to try, but I always said no. Until closer to the end of grade 12, when I agreed to try it once. I ended up liking it and started vaping, but only used my girlfriend's vape at first. I never told my dad.

After about three months, I finally bought my own vape. I'd vape in my room sometimes and hide it in my pillowcase. My dad would occasionally ask about the smoky smell, but I said it was my humidifier, and he believed me.

Two weeks ago, I went on a road trip with friends and accidentally left my vape at home. I wasn't too worried because I thought my dad would never go into my room. But on the second day, he called asking where my wallet was because he needed cash for a movie theater. I told him my wallet was with me but there was a $100 bill in my nightstand drawer.

While grabbing the money, he found my vape in the pillowcase. He got really mad and said we'd talk when I got home.

A week later, when I got back, he was fuming. He demanded to know who "forced" me to vape. I told him no one and that it was my choice, but he didn't believe me and assumed it was my girlfriend because he had seen her hanging out with vapers. I admitted she vaped, but emphasized that she didn’t make me do it.

He got even angrier that I hadn’t told him sooner. He smashed my vape on the ground and threw it in the garbage. Then he told me I needed to break up with my girlfriend because she "forced" me into vaping.

After that argument, I left the house. I've been living with my girlfriend and paying rent for the past five days.
