I asked a woman I've worked with a couple of times (don't want to get into my job role as don't want to give specifics in case she's on reddit) how she was, and she said the start of the year wasn't great as she had a miscarriage. I said "oh, I'm sorry to hear that".conversation moved on naturally.

I go to the toilet and she's on her lunch break and I can hear her telling another member of staff that I wasn't very sympathetic, and the other staff member agreeing. The thing is I'm childfree by choice and for me being pregnant/having a child would be the worst thing for my life I could think of. So I purely cannot relate on an emotional level to her ?? We're also not friends we have worked together maybe 10 times in one year ?
