📝 AITA for pouring out my brothers hygiene stuff after I got yelled at and insulted because he forgot to put the meat in the oven after being asked to hours earlier?

Around midday, my brother (15m) was instructed to put the meat in the oven. Both parents were at work, and I had a few hours worth of school work and then part time after that. In fact, I (17f) didn’t even know that my brother was on cooking duty until one of my parents asked me in the car while driving to work, to which I replied with idk. I didn’t pay any attention to whether my brother had or hadn’t done it because he’s a fully capable human being and he would’ve asked for help if he needed it. I got home around 17:00 and assume that everything’s been done, and my dad was home before me and then took my brother to an event so like he would’ve made sure it was done right?

Then my mum got home about 19:00 ish, the meat wasn’t cooked, and was crashing out and begun blaming me. You may be wondering why I wasn’t cooking? I had asked mum earlier if she wanted me to cook dinner and she said no. I tried explaining my side (my brother was meant to have done it and how I didn’t know until much later in the day), which made things worse as she begun yelling at me things I don’t want to repeat. Crash outs are pretty rare for my mum

I was honestly in tears at this point, and furious at my brother because this would have never happened if he got off his games and did what he was asked to do. This isn’t even the first time that he’s “forgotten” to do something if somebody else isn’t there to do it with him (such as not feeding the dogs when he’s home alone). I wanted to thrash his whole room, that’s how mad I was, so I resorted to tipping out the 1/8 of his mouth wash and half a bottle of his body wash.
