So this might be kind of dumb, but it turned into a real fight and now I’m wondering if I messed up.

I (21F) was in a Discord call with my boyfriend (21M) the other night. We were just hanging out, gaming, and being goofy. Out of nowhere, he told me he wanted me to start calling him “Big Boss.” I thought he was joking at first, so I laughed and kinda teased him about it. I didn’t immediately call him that because, honestly, it sounded silly and I was messing with him a little in a lighthearted way.

He started getting a little annoyed that I wasn’t taking it seriously, so I made a joke that if he called me Big Boss first, then I’d return the favor and call him it. To my surprise, he agreed and actually called me Big Boss.

So I thought it’d be funny and said “Alright, the boss” instead of “Big Boss,” just to continue the playful vibe. That’s when everything went south.

He got really mad and called me a “stupid dumb bitch” and then immediately hung up. I was honestly shocked. I thought we were just joking around, but he clearly took it way more seriously than I expected. It’s been over 24 hours and he still hasn’t responded to any of my texts or messages.

Now I’m sitting here wondering if I was being disrespectful or if he just overreacted. I didn’t mean to hurt him or humiliate him, it was all meant to be light teasing like we usually do.
