I (17 trans m) have been friends with my best friend A (16f) for over three years now. I was recently kicked out of school for having seizures (which is crazy ik) so I’m not completely aware of everything happening at the high school. Because I’m unaware of what’s going on in the school, I didn’t know A was dating N until today when she told me, after saying she promised her boyfriend she wouldn’t. For background: N had bullied me from sixth grade to eighth grade, telling me to k!|| myself and saying no one would care if I died all through out sixth grade until I got sent to a mental hospital for su!c!dal thoughts. When I came back for seventh grade, the bullying continued. I was bullied by N until I dropped out of band right before high school to avoid him since we played the same instrument.

Although the bullying stopped before high school, N is still a total pos. A recently started dating N, even after I told her all the shit he’s done. My best friend had told me many times that she would never date anyone that’s racist, smokes/vapes, and drinks, especially since he’s 16. I don’t like being around N, but A gets really upset when I say I don’t wanna hang out with her and her boyfriend. She cries when I say anything bad about him, or mentions that he does any of the things she claims she hates.

Since I’m not attending the high school, and am doing online school, A wanted to buy me a ticket and bring me as a +1 from another school. I was on board and very excited, as this would’ve been my first prom, but refuse to go with her since her boyfriend is going with her too. I refuse to go to an event at a school that I have personal issues with for child and medical neglect, just to be a third wheel to my best friend and her boyfriend. Am I the asshole?
