when i get drunk i like talking to people and meeting random people to chat with. last night, my friends and i were walking towards the patio part of the bar and a guy says something in my language and i immediately started talking to him. so we're talking about our culture and arguing (in a fun way) and i lost track of time (45 minute conversation max).

after our talk, i called my friend trying to see where she was at, but she wouldnt answer so i found our other friends and ubered home

mind you, im never on my phone when im drunk ESPECIALLY if im having a conversation. but i will pick up a phone call. she had texted me where i was and i obviously didnt see it because i was lost in conversation with the guy

last night i heard her come home and went to go see how her night went, she locked her room and told me she was going to bed. this morning i tried doing the same thing and she wouldnt open the door.

just now, i finally got her to open her door and she just started screaming at me telling me how terrible her night was and how i always wander off and never tell her where im going. i told her she shouldve called me and i wouldve picked up but she claimed her phone was dead. she just said how its annoying how she's always trying to find me when we go out (im 21f, we both go to university.)

edit: before anyone asks, we were in a group of 10+ women so it was just the two of us

i do feel like an asshole because she had to walk home (since her phone died) but i never left the bar, and i tried calling her after our conversation was over. this is a very small bar so i wasnt hard to spot at all and i had no idea she would be this upset with me. AITA?
