My cousin who is younger than me is getting married in about a month. It’s a destination wedding and I am attending. I’ve also been invited to her bridal shower only weeks before the wedding with its own dress code (I have nothing that matches so I’d have to buy something new or wear something that doesn’t match the dress code). It also comes with a gift registry (which is another layer of awkward). Finally , my cousin and I are different people fundamentally and just the thought of being around a group of her friends/that vibe makes me uncomfortable. Can I just say no ?
