My partner's friends who I have never met before are getting married and I was never asked if I wanted to go. I was invited to the wedding and RSVP'd for, expecting that I attend. This is the second wedding on his side we've been invited to where I don't know or met either bride or groom before. The first wedding caused an issue because it was over a weekend that a popular music festival was happening that I've always attended for about 13 years and had to give up. However, even though nothing is happening over this specific weekend, I just don't want to attend it. The idea of giving up work and spending money and time traveling to be at a wedding for people I've never met before doesn't sound enjoyable. Am I the asshole?
