📝 AITA for refusing to help my cousin move after he ghosted me for months?

So I (28M) used to be really close with my cousin “Jake” (29M). We grew up together, and even as adults we stayed tight — hanging out, helping each other with stuff, just solid cousin-bro energy. But around 6 months ago, he just stopped responding to my texts and calls. I wasn’t blowing him up or anything, but I’d check in now and then, and he’d either leave me on read or completely ignore it.

I figured maybe he was going through something or just needed space, so I left it alone. But yeah, it hurt. I felt kind of abandoned, to be honest. Then out of nowhere last week, he texts me like nothing happened, asking if I can help him move this weekend because “he knows I have a truck” and “I’m good at lifting heavy stuff.” No explanation, no “hey man, sorry I disappeared,” just straight to the favor.

I replied politely but said no — I had other plans (which, to be fair, were just relaxing at home, but still). He hit me with, “Wow, so much for family,” and even told our aunt I was being petty and holding a grudge. Now I’ve got a few family members guilt-tripping me about “being the bigger person.”

I don’t think I’m being unreasonable. I’m not mad anymore, I just don’t feel like going out of my way for someone who went silent for half a year and only popped back up when they needed something.

So, AITA for saying no?
