📝 AITA for refusing to keep giving someone rides after they never offered gas money?

I’ve been giving a coworker rides to and from work for almost two months. Their car broke down, and at first I didn’t mind helping out, we work in the same general area, and it felt like the right thing to do

But the thing is, I go about 25 minutes out of my way every day to pick them up and drop them off. It adds a lot to my commute, plus extra gas and wear on my car. They’ve never once offered to chip in, not even when gas prices spiked last month

I finally said something last week, politely mentioned that it would help if they could throw in a little for gas. They kind of laughed and said, “You’re already driving there anyway,” and changed the subject. The next day, they asked me to grab them coffee on the way in.

That was the last straw. I told them I couldn’t keep doing the rides unless they helped cover some of the cost or figured out another option. They got defensive and said I was being petty, and that they would’ve “never asked” if they knew I was going to make it a big deal.

Now shes been talking around saying I "changed" since my promotion recently... like I think I’m above helping people now... I've no words...

Honestly, I just feel used.
