I (27M) have been dating my girlfriend (25F) for a little over a year now. Everything has been going pretty well — good chemistry, shared interests, compatible personalities, and a healthy sex life (or so I thought).
Last weekend, we went out for drinks with her friends. At some point, they started sharing funny/embarrassing bedroom stories. I wasn’t too bothered until my girlfriend decided to share our business. She laughed and said something like, “Well, at least I don’t have to worry about choking,” and her friends howled.
I was stunned. I didn’t say anything then because I didn’t want to cause a scene, but it made me feel like absolute crap. When we got home, I told her how embarrassed and emasculated I felt. She brushed it off, saying, “It’s just a joke, lighten up.”
I told her I needed some space and didn’t feel comfortable being intimate with her after that. It's been almost a week, and she's been acting all hurt, saying I’m being overly sensitive and using sex as a weapon. But honestly, I just feel disrespected.
AITA for not wanting to sleep with her after that comment?
