okay so i (19f) had a friend (22m), let’s call him evan, who i met last year when i was freshly 18 while doing a traineeship. evan and i also became friends with another person in our group who we’ll call ash (17f). evan had a massive crush on me throughout the whole 6 months we were doing the course, even saying that he loved me, although i never saw him that way and only saw him as more of a best friend. also we had never even hung out in person, only ever seeing each other at work, so i thought it was a bit odd that he said he loved me when we never even did anything. when the course ended i tried to keep in touch with evan and ash and we went to a small concert together but that was the last time we really saw each other. evan became distant which disappointed me as we got along so well and i saw him as a really good friend. anyway, the last time we talked was a few months ago when i found out evan had been dating ash for 6 months. i was weirded out by this as the last time i saw them ash was 16… but evan told me she had turned 17. our conversation escalated as i accused him of being a groomer because what 22 year old thinks it’s normal to date a 17 year old??? i ended up blocking him and shortly after got a text from ash’s mom saying i need to leave them alone and how everyone evan knows is fine with them dating and he is in no way a groomer. she then said that “action would be taken” if i contacted them again 😭. i didn’t reply to her but reported evan instead for grooming. am i the asshole for this? i felt kind of bad after but it just felt so wrong and icky to me.
