This happened pretty recently, I don't think I am and AH but figured I should get an outside perspective. I (24F) was recently chatting with some friends and people we are semi-friends with, 6 of us in total, in between classes (we are all in grad school). One of the people we are semi-friends with, James (25M), started going on about how he talks to everybody and knows what everybody thinks of everybody else so we asked what he knew other people thought of us. He laughed and said "all good things" and then looked at me, made an odd "eugh" type of a face and said "well except you".
We we're like "woah seriously?! what does that mean you can't just hold out on us!" we spent some time trying to pry the information out of him and eventually got him to talk about a bunch of his "information". He told all of us the good things first and then the bad, according to him there is one person who absolutely despises me, Shane (26M).
When we had started classes Shane and I had about a month long stint where we were flirting with each other, nothing happened further than the flirting and is something that I would barely even label as a talking stage. The flirting fizzled out quick and I was not a fan of watching him vie for the attention of every woman who happened to stand within 100ft of him so we agreed to stay friends rather than continue flirting. According to James, after the flirting ended Shane began talking shit about me behind my back, with the man insult being "she's crazy". This did make me and my friends laugh a bit.
James freaked out a little and started defending Shane which made us laugh more and I told him it wasn't a big deal and I wasn't that pressed about it. He stopped freaking out and said there was one more thing that Shane had been saying, he had seen from my instagram likes that I was "chronically horny". My friends and I started laughing again and making jokes about it. James got flustered and again started defending Shane so I said "If he thinks I'm chronically horny for liking some Sex and the City posts he's delusional and mad that I'm not 'chronically horny' for him".
James got defensive again and eventually left us after we kept laughing, recently I've noticed that Shane has been extra avoidant of me and I have been told by a few friends that they have seen him make a "she's crazy" hand gesture when I walk by him. Obviously James told him what I said, but I need to know AITAH?
