📝 AITA for saying that I could care less if I ever saw stepchildrens’ Grandma ever again?

I(39m) am married to my wife Kelci(37f) for 7 years. I have to step kids Jordan(12) and Tatum(13).

My step childrens’ Dad Joseph is still in the picture. He sees them every other weekend(sometimes for a night) but he rarely helps out financially. Kelci and Joseph worked out a verbal agreement that she gets taxes and he won’t have to pay child support or something.

Joseph’s mom(MaMa) is involved still too. They’ll visit her. She will attend games and school activities and buy them gifts.

Well a few weeks ago, MaMa told my wife, that if my wife(Kelci) would ever pass away, MaMa would force Joseph to take the kids away from me, away from their home, and MaMa and Joseph would get a house together and raise the kids together.

Then I told Kelci I wouldn’t care if I ever saw MaMa again. We had her at our house, we took her out to eat, I gave her rides. I helped her out and respected her. But in return, if my wife ever happened to pass away, on top of losing my wife, she is threatening to take the rest of my family away?

Kelci said I’m being a little too harsh.
