📝 AITA for thinking the "mango ladies" that set up fruit stands on street corners and subway stations should be fined?

The mango ladies in US major cities are women who set up a card table and sell freshly cut fruit to passersby on the street. Sometimes they wear gloves, sometimes they don't. In the past couple years, some people have been up in arms about law enforcement penalizing the mango ladies. The ladies don't obtain permits to sell at that spot on the street, while other kiosk vendors do need them like the hot dog vendor. They also don't have licenses to sell food, don't undergo mandatory food safety inspections. They don't have any sort of facility to wash up or clean their knives, other than a single rag. They only take cash that don't pay taxes on. They are operating completely illegally and there is a possibility of their fruit being a danger to consumers in food safety. They are also an economical burden and unfair competition to food vendors who are going through all the necessary steps to sell food safely. Yet, people were all over social media decrying, "Don't punish the mango ladies! They're just trying to make a buck. And their fruit is refreshing!" It's my belief people will be vocal about this until there is a huge listeria or E. Coli outbreak.
