Yesterday I was talking with my partner (22F) of two years and suddenly she told me that almost a year or so ago something very bad happened to her at work. It's so bad that she considered contacting HR and the police. I said I wanted to help and asked her what exactly happened, but she refused to tell me, saying that it doesn't matter anymore. I continued to ask but she got mad and ignored me for the rest of the night. The next morning, I send her an apology but end it by telling her that I still believe I have the right to know, but she doesn't agree.
Am I overreacting? I don't want to keep arguing, but I also feel like partners should tell each other this kind of stuff.
