I sold a vehicle to a scrap yard 6 months ago and because of a emergency situation and forgot to get bill of sale. I never looked back but I just recently got toll road bill in the mail (verified not scam) and found out not only was the vehicle never registered, it was sold right after it was bought from me, and no paperwork was ever filled out through the state. On the one hand I sold it, on the other I sold it to one person and he didn't transfer the title correctly so legally the title defaulted back to me and I've been dealing with the blowback.
