This happened around last week.. I’m still a bit surprised by how things turned out.
It was my friend’s birthday - we were going to a restaurant. We reached around the same time which is when I noticed a major wardrobe malfunction. I immediately told her about it and told her I would be popping into a dress store nearby to get a safety pin or clip, else I’d be considerably exposed.
This only took about a minute as there was a thrift store right opposite where we all were. We then proceeded to enter and sit down. When we got the menu - my friend expressed visible discomfort at the prices and said we can all just split 2 mains - there were 5 of us.
Having been to this place before I knew the portion sizes to be quite small. I quickly whispered it to her and told her that if she wanted us to go to another restaurant nearby we wouldn’t have any issue (very popular road so 50-60 restaurants in parallel roads easily).
She told me it’s fine and I left the matter as it was - it was her birthday and I had no issues eating less, just didn’t want her to be uncomfortable.
Over the week she’s been ghosting me and telling friends I made the day all about me and didn’t allow her to be herself (huh). I’m confused, AITA? I was just trying to help her, and the wardrobe malfunction wasn’t intentional?
