I (38f) have been married ro my husband (38m) for almost almost half our life. We've had ups and downs but nothing like what has been happening. Recently after my husband went to a farewell dinner/gathering for a coworker, I came across some texts between him and another male coworker. These texts were borderline admitting he would cheat. Basically saying if the "signals were communicated" they would have been down for some car action with a female coworker. Now after I saw this I confronted him and we talked it out. He gave his explanation but I feel like it was more covering than anything. And seeing as how nothing happened I'm just in a state of distrust. Now to my issue, I have a not big surgery coming up but it will be something that makes eating/ doing seniors things difficult for a week or 2. We do have kids as well so he took off the 2 days of my upcoming surgery. But now he wants to go to a party in state but pretty far away only 3 days after my surgery, and his excuse is he's only going to be gone for alittle over 24hours. Now some info the girl he would have been with if she gave a signal is currently where this party is going to be. I want to just go off but at this point why am I trying to make someone put me first when they obviously don't care. Am I right to think he's going to cheat? Or am I just being insecure and being an asshole?
