I, 18M have a brother 20M that I got into a massive fight with. So, my brother’s friend’s mother passed away after a difficult battle from cancer last night - she was diagnosed late. My brother’s first words he said to his friend was “I’m so sorry to hear your mother passed away she gets five big booms.” And proceeded to do the 5 ‘booms’. His friend hung up the call and I went a little over the top yelling at him. I understand he was trying to lighten the mood, but that was just uncalled for. My mother thinks I was over the top, and that I should apologise. Am I crazy? Maybe it’s cause my friend’s mother had a close call with cancer as well, but I feel like what he did was out of line. AITAH?
