Pretext I traveled 18 hours from my front door step to my parents to come into town for a good friends wedding. I brought myself infant baby and partner. We took a red eye flight and I didn’t sleep till 7am once settled at my parents place till noon. I had plans to meet with my sister whom I hadn’t heard from but we were going to meet at my favorite taco place. The evening rolls around and we are getting my mom and friends ready to go meet my sister. My mom said her friend wants to come and for us to pick her up so I said ok sure no problem let’s go get her. She said we’d meet her at the grocery store, my small child is having a fit about being in the car, exhausted from his 18 hours of travel. My mom stops at a restaurant and says her friend is there and then opens my door and tries to get me out of the car. I said no we will wait in the car for your friend. She insisted we get out and I was angry as I had just calmed my child down and I would like to wait. I said fuck no I’m not getting out if we are here to pick someone up?!?! She went inside and didn’t return. So my partner baby and I went inside to find my sister brother In law parents uncle grandma friends etc. for a she said yes / engagement party. We got engaged 2 years ago. mind you this is 12 hours after our 18 hour travel to come into town. I was not stoked as I was not expecting any of this and really just wanted my tacos and to see my sister and BIL. My sisters never spent any time with my son, even said she was leaving town the day we were getting into town previously. And still managed to barely spend any time with her nephew by arranging this party night for people who were absolutely exhausted. AITAH?
