Background: Me and my boyfriend have been together for 5 years and just had a baby. She’s now 3 months old. He just got laid off from his job because they’re slow due to the season so now he’s stuck without a job. It’s been a month and he still hasn’t been hired anywhere yet. He just had a real good job on the line but he told me they ended up not calling him back because he accidentally checked “not a US citizen” when he filled out the application. 🙃

We live close by to his best friend of 10 years and his girlfriend. They have kids together. Apparently this morning they called him and asked if he would go take them shopping for food with our food stamps card because they spent all their food stamp money on the girlfriend’s sister. They told him they need food for the house and for their kids. Of course being the nice guy my boyfriend is, he says yes. Even tho we only have $100 left on our card.. I didn’t find this out until he told me they’re going to come over to our house and ride with him to the grocery store so he can get them groceries. I told him i don’t want them using our food stamps because we need the rest of that money on the card. Especially when he doesn’t have a job right now. And he said “well then I’ll just give them some of our food that’s in the house”. And they ended up coming over and taking a few things and I got pissed. Now he’s upset with me because I told him I’m leaving him if he does it again. He says yes to every single favor that someone asks of him and it’s honestly frustrating. He even recently got his sister groceries with our food stamps even tho she makes good money. AITAH?
