📝 AITAH for asking my boyfriend to feed the cats in the morning?

My boyfriend (27M) and I (26M) have a routine where we feed our cats every morning at around 8 AM. We usually take turns doing it. We very seldom go outside of this routine as we are both autistic, but going out of turn really seems to mess with him in particular. Despite this, he has asked me before if he works the next day and I don’t to feed the cats for him so he can rest and I have just fine. That’s what partners do, in my eyes.

Yesterday, both of us were scheduled to work super early and it was his turn. My mom lives with us and offered to feed the cats this time since it was very early in the morning.

I work tomorrow and he’s off. I asked him if he could feed the cats tomorrow and he got pretty quiet and upset. He insisted it was my turn. I said that neither of us got a turn today and that it was still his turn, plus I work tomorrow and have done it for him before. It still really upset him and made me feel unfairly treated. Like it only messes with his autism if it doesn’t benefit him. We got into an argument and eventually he said he’d do it, but he’s been very quiet since.

I know he can’t exactly help it, but I still feel like this isn’t fair. Am I being unreasonable? AITAH?
