ok, based on the title ik it sounds weird BUT I (20f) have been friends with my friend sarah (19f). we have been friends for about a year and have been super close. i recently lost my job and have been super overwhelmed.

2 days ago she texted me and said she wanted to take a break from our friendship because ive been distant. i responded and told her im so sorry and how i just got fired so ive been super overwhelmed. she said ive hurt her enough by not being close enough with her and she needs a break.

i didnt stop her from anything all i said was that im sorry for being distant. i know im making it seem like a lousy apology but it really was sincere. we go to the same coffee shop alot, and ever since she dropped me ive been avoiding her when i see her.

i dont want to avoid her but i feel like its the only option i have. lmw AITAH?
