I (30F) have a brother-in-law (25M) who has a habit of leaving his vape around whenever he visits. He dismissed concerns about it in the past. Yesterday, my 7 year old daughter found his vape and took a puff before I caught her (I could smell her breath).
I was upset and worried both for her health and because I had previously asked him to be more careful with it around children. After complaining to him about it, he brushed it off like it was no big deal. I told him that I didn't feel comfortable having him over anymore if he couldn't keep his vape out of reach. He responded by saying it perfectly okay for kids to vape and this and me FURIOUS to hell and back!
As a result of his behavior and beliefs, I decided to ban him from coming to my house until he can show me he is responsible and educated. My husband (27M) isn't happy at what happened but thinks my actions are an overreaction and thay I should "give him another chance" because it probably won't happened again according to him. I am still not happy.
