Here is some context: I used to be friends with this girl named Skylar and she has a tendency for lying to people about things that range from the smallest things to bigger things. At first it was small things like “did you take my pencil” but it slowly turned into things like “you lied about getting your period.” Skylar introduced me to Willow and Zoe before me and Skylar had a big argument. (More on that later) Zoe was a bit rude at first but she’s really a nice person and Willow is just a nice person in general. Now let me talk about mine and Skylar’s big argument. Now before the argument I tried to be as nice as possible to Skylar to politely tell her “hey I don’t really want to be friends” but she decided to take it WAY harder then it was supposed to. She sighed dramatically and said “this happens every time I don’t wanna hear it” and I have bad anger issues so I replied with, “Are you kidding me!? I try being nice to you and you do this? Don’t even talk to me anymore” Before this, Skylar had given me a bracelet that was kinda worthless so I had the idea to go up to her during lunch and snap the bracelet in half and tell her that’s what I think about our friendship. After I did this she started crying and someone told the principal. I told the principal, “Skylar has not been a very good friend lately.” And she asked how so. So I told her everything. About the bracelet, the lies, when I originally wanted to stop being friends, everything. Then after school I got a text from Willow stating, “Hey! I noticed you and Skylar aren’t friends anymore and I agree with you that she has been lying a lot and Zoe feels the same.” I then replied to her saying “Yes that did happen and we should talk about it sometime.” And so we did. The next day arrived and the three of us talked about how much Skylar has lied and how much she manipulated us into being her friend by asking us to do stuff repeatedly until we give in and how annoying she is. Me, Willow, and Zoe are great friends now. I don’t feel like I did anything wrong to Skylar I just feel like she’s making herself the victim. AITAH?
