The title sounds bratty but I feel like there’s more to the story. I’m 17 years old (2 1/2 weeks until I’m 18) and I live at my moms full time. I went over to my dads house last night so we could take the top off of my jeep and everytime I go over there for something, he always starts the grill and we each make our own pizzas on the Big Green Egg he got a few years ago. I don’t go over there much so when I have leftover pizza I always eat it. Keep in mind that this is the only leftover food I will eat. On par with our routine, last night we had pizza and I made an extra one so I could bring it home and eat it the next day. I got home and placed it on the kitchen table and when I left it there, I had 6 pieces left. This morning I was using the bathroom and my mom asked if she could have my leftover pizza through he door. I told her no and she asked “Why you’re not going to eat it?” I said “Yes I am and you cannot have any. There’s a reason I brought it home.” She conceded, agreeing not to eat any of the pizza. I got out of the bathroom, walked over tot he mini pizza box and opened it to find two pieces left. Obviously I was upset because it was my pizza that I made and was going to eat. I questioned why there was only tw pieces left and my mom said “Well think about it, there’s three of us in the house and I didnt eat any.” I got upset and went to my room and my mom questioned “Why does it matter. You probably weren’t going to eat the leftovers anyway. and there’s still some left.” I told her that “Two pieces is not enough to make me not hungry” and she said “Seriously?” as I went into my room and shut the door. I eventually got up to go to the bathroom so I could wash my face and brush my teeth and while doing so I got a text that read “Seriously, stop. You’re being ridiculous. It was 1 small piece. The last time you brought leftovers home I threw them away because they sat on the counter for 3 days,” I replied saying “It was four pieces and last time I brought leftover pizza home I was the one who ate it.” She told me that I didnt and that she threw them away before saying “You’re acting like a brat. I want you to stop and think about how much we do for you and youre crying over two tiny pieces of pizza.” I replied and said “It was four slices and it was my pizza. You guys didnt eat it last time so what makes this time any different?” She tried to tell me that she did throw the leftover pizza away last time but if they wanted to eat my leftovers this time they would have eaten them last time too. And I vividly remember sitting at my kitchen table eating the pizza from last time so I obviously wasnt fucking imagining it. I didnt respond to that text and she came into my room, asking if I still had an attitude. I shook my head sarcastically and she asked if I “Wanted to start paying my own phone bill.” I said “Sure.” Because I dont even use my phone that often and she once again said “We do so much for you and it was just pizza. How often do you even eat leftovers.” I replied and said “Never but if I brought it home I was obviously going to eat it. And why would he want to eat pizza so early in the morning it doesn’t make any sense.” She reiterated her “We do so much for you and youre being a brat” before she closed the door and walked away. She hasn’t came back since and I couldnt care less. Reading this back makes me sound like a spoiled brat but it was just the principle of the fact that I never bring leftovers home and the one time I did, most of it was gone.
