So this just happened. My mom brought home a kitten in November, quickly list interest and tried to wean him off of wet food about a week after bringing him home at about 10 or 11 weeks because "wet food is expensive." She bought him wet food twice and had since promised to pay me back but never did. I took on the role of caring for him because he would come to me for food and when he needed to fins the litter box, and I knew if I didn't he wouldn't get fed.

My sister warned me that my mom decided to get rid of luna and that she was not allowed to tell me. A few days later, tonight she proceeds to text me the above message rather than breaking the news to me in person. After I put all the time, money and care into this kitten. I'm at a loss for words. I know there's nothing I can do to stop it because she is very stubborn and will immediately get defensive. If I express being upset about it she will pull the victim card and pretend to be upset. The worst part is I work literally all day so I won't have any time with him before he is gone.

I have nothing to say to her so I didn't even answer her text. How do I even respond? I know technically she brought him home but I took him under my wing and fed him every day just for her to decide he would be someone else's cat. I just don't understand why she would go behind my back and re home him without even telling me or asking how I felt about it.

I'm just at a loss and I really don't know what to do.
